  • Pre-school is run by an experienced Early Years Practitioner, with a staff ratio of 1 adult to 8 pre-school children.

  • As confidence grows and children demonstrate skills in building relationships, our activities allow learning opportunities through purposeful play. A team of qualified staff provide care and supervision so that children receive time and space to produce work independently to prepare them for their school days.

  • Besides educational visits and outings in the nursery minibus, there is a large pre-school space, equipped with computers; sand and water play areas, mark making and creative play areas and a role play area.

  • Children have the opportunity to participate in gymnastics sessions at Malvern Hills Gymnastics Club and dance sessions at Dance in Motion Academy. We also have a music teacher who visits nursery.

  • Within our healthy eating programme children will be encouraged to grow their own vegetables (with a little help from adults!).

  • During their time with us, your child’s achievements will be recorded in a learning journey book, which is constantly updated. Your child’s daily routine is also recorded in a diary, which can be used by both the parent and nursery staff as a form of communication between home and nursery.

  • All children have access to drinking water throughout the day.

  • Staff are enthusiastic in their delivery of the early years Foundation Stage programme, which supports the development, learning and care of the children, through four complementary themes:

  • A Unique Child: Recognising that every child is a competent learner

  • Positive relationships: Allowing children to learn to be strong and independent

  • Enabling Environments: Which play a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning

  • Learning and Development: Allowing children to develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
